Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has been unhappy with Argentina’s decision to summon Lionel Messi to the national team despite an injury problem.

The 34-year-old superstar has not played in PSG’s last two games due to a knee and hamstring problem. 

But still. He is still named In the Argentina national team. The preparations for the World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Uruguay are

all subject to the terms of the contract which states that Messi can prioritize the national team before the club.  At this point.

“We do not agree to let players play for the national team. for us It must not be a condition related to physical condition or in the rehabilitation period of an injury.”

“It doesn’t make sense. In a situation like this it is worth finding a clear agreement with FIFA.”

The decision to call-up both Lionel Messi and Leandro Paredes to the Argentina national team squad has frustrated Paris Saint-Germain. On the back of this, the club’s sporting director, Leonardo, came out to question the logic behind it.

Speaking with French paper Le Parisien. Leonardo was clearly annoyed about his two players, both currently injured.

Having to travel to Argentina to train with the reigning Copa America champions.

“We don’t agree with allowing a player to go away with the national team who, for us, is not in physical condition or is in the rehabilitation phase.
