Tudor balancing ideas can’t be used with a “Ronaldo”

Hellas Verona manager Igor Tudor says their football idea has to be balanced offensively and defensively. Which doesn’t suit a big team and applies to players like Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 43-year-old, former Andrea Pirlo right-hand man, took over at Verona last summer and is making an interesting move, beating Lazio and Juventus. S, Roma and are tied with leaders Napoli, who are 10th in the table.

The news spoke about his football idea after the match against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona 1-1, which was the placement of players across the field.

At half-time we talked about the comeback we suffered against AC Milan, saying that it couldn’t happen today.  I have to congratulate the lads, they did everything I asked of them, even when Lazio came back in the second half.

“It would be difficult to implement our training approach in a top team,” Tudor told DAZN.

“Maybe we can find a middle ground between being more offensive and in control of the zone. Which is annoying but in a good way. Of course we can’t offer this kind of thing to a player like Cristiano Ronaldo.”

“However, football always improves and coaches have to do the same. You can’t leave anything behind. We have to work on both parts.”
